Q: Tell the wine world about yourself in two sentences.

A: The day you stop studying, you stop being a Sommelier

Love your trade, wine service; it's one of the noblest gestures of humanity.

Q: Why wine?

Because I was born in a country of wine(Chile), because wine is culture, wine is terroir, wine is people, wine is a passion, because wine is a continuous learning.

Q. Tell us about your favourite reference book?

Terroir Footprints, A fascinating trip to the great world of terroir by dr.Pedro Parra (one of the best specialist in understanding terroir in the world

Q: If you were a wine grape, what would that be, and why?

It would be a grape like the Carignan from the Maipo Valley or Cabernet Sauvignon from Maipo Andes (Valley)

Because Carignan was introduced in the 1940s, this area to improve the wines. later it was forgotten because people preferred Bordeaux varietal wines, currently it's in dry land and offers high quality and long-lived wines ideal for cellars and on the way to becoming the first DOC in Chile(VIGNO)

Because I was born in Santiago at the feet of the Andes mountains, an ideal place for the Cabernet Sauvignon, I believe that one should never forget where it comes from and that reminds me when I open a Cabernet from Alto Maipo, aromas of herbs that are found at the mountain feet.

Q:Looking into your crystal ball, what is the great change you would like to see in the wine industry?

A: Equality for all

Q: If there is one wine you can drink for the rest of time, what would it be? Feel free to be as broad or as specific about your choice.

Riesling from Ontario: because I think it has a great potential, it has a lot to grow and a lot to learn, although it's not originally from Canada, I identify with it, because I'm not from here either, but it's the land we choose to develop root samples I still have a lot to learn and a lot to grow, but it's the place I chose to live with my family.
