CAPS Ontario has thrown its hat in the ring as the latest Vinequity Scholarship partner.
Starting January 2023, CAPS Ontario has committed to covering the CAPS Professional Sommelier Certification Program for two Vinequity scholarship program applicants. In addition to the program scholarship, successful applicants are granted a complementary one-year membership to CAPS.
From James Peden, President CAPS Ontario
The Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers are partnering with Vinequity to sponsor the certification process for 2 of Vinequity members. CAPS Ontario is committed to promoting diversity in the Wine Industry and want to actively support the BIPOC community in any possible. These scholarships are valued at approximately $6,000 each and the recipients will be selected by Vinequity.
Those interested in applying for the program through the Vinequity Scholarship program can go here to access the application. Select Tier 3 when asked what kind of scholarship you are interested in. You can read more about the types of scholarships offered and our framework here.
Upon successful completion, students receive a joint certificate from CAPS and the college where the student is registered. For example, in Ontario, the program is offered at George Brown College and Niagara College.
Though CAPS Ontario is donating this scholarship, Vinequity applicants from across Canada are eligible if there is a CAPS Professional Sommelier Certification Program in their area. CAPS Ontario will take care of the cross province payment and support.
Join us in recognizing CAPS Ontario for its commitment to the community and the industry.
